My Story

Hi, I’m Charlotte, costume maker turned small business owner, and I’ve made it my mission to supply the conscious consumer with premium linens that will elevate their homes.

I grew up by the seaside in West Sussex, and moved to London in 2012 to train as a costume maker for theatre. Thriving in the industry for several years, I hit a hurdle when the theatres closed in 2020, and found myself pivoting to set up my homeware brand Cloth & Clay.

Though I’ve always felt most myself amongst the diversity of the city, I often find myself craving the peace and quiet of the coast. Working with muted colour palettes and natural materials, my products aim to bring you those calm and natural themes, helping to make your homes into havens.

I choose to work with linen, the strongest of the natural fabrics, as it is very sustainable to produce. I was trained to make garments fit to withstand long runs on stage, so my products have inbuilt longevity, and are everyday home essentials of a luxury quality.
